History of St. Gregory’s University


St. Gregory’s University was founded in October of 1875 by two French Benedictine monks who made their way into Indian Territory and dedicated themselves to the education of Native Americans and other settlers in the region. Since then, St. Gregory’s University has developed into an academic community of higher learning committed to meeting the needs of adult students. Today, St. Gregory’s University promotes the education of the adult student within a Christian community that encourages students to develop in education, balance, generosity and integrity.

St. Gregory's University is committed to excellence in continuing education and offers a dedicated faculty that provides a quality learning experience for adult students earning their associate, bachelor’s or master’s degree. The St. Gregory’s University adult degree programs are designed for working professionals, while emphasizing the foundational values and ethical leadership necessary in today's business environment. Continuing education coursework integrates ethics, critical thinking and teamwork to help adult students develop a deep knowledge base in their chosen area of study.

St. Gregory’s University understands the educational needs of its adult students who are working while earning their associate, bachelor’s or master’s degree. The convenient and flexible schedules at St. Gregory’s University allow adult students to attend class just one night and to meet weekly with their small learning teams.
