The 64-credit, 108-week Associate of Science in Business program (ASB) is designed to provide a practical business education along with a strong liberal arts foundation. The 36-credit, 74-week Master of Science in Management program (MSM) is designed to provide the fundamental business skills in management, marketing and finance needed to achieve organizational imperatives in an ethical manner. Graduates are prepared for leadership roles and possess effective oral and written communication skills as well as the interpersonal skills required of an effective leader. Coursework develops appropriate problem-solving skills involving the correct use of inference and deduction, assumption recognition, evidence interpretation, and argument evaluation.
The Human Resource Management (HRM) Area of Concentration (AOC) Option is designed to address the HRM body of knowledge recommended by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) to prepare for the PHR and SPHR certification exams. This AOC is offered online and is composed of six courses (18 credit hours) that addresses issues that the HR employee faces daily, from legal matters to staff recruitment and development. * It is designed for those who have functional responsibility to carry out the duties of an organization's human resource department; seasoned staff members wishing to keep current; newcomers to the field requiring new knowledge and skills; or specialists wanting to broaden their knowledge base. The program focuses on practical applications and techniques associated with the principles of human resource management. Students in this program will learn practical solutions to critical issues that impact the workplace every day.
